Response to U.S. Woman on the Rise as
Family Breadwinner
In
the article of U.S. Woman on the Rise as
Family Breadwinner, Rampell states reports that approximately 50% of Americans believe mother
should not work but stay at home for children. (Par7)
I
disagree with this the idea that women should stay home for children although I feel that there are the same argument in
Japan. According to Mari Kan, Aughinbaugh and Gittleman proved that mothers’
job made no impact on their children’s bad behavior such as smoking, drinking
alcohol and crime (P4). Kan himself also conducted research showing that mothers’ job
affected on better grade of their children although he suggested further
research should be conducted because there were many factors which needed to be
considered(P2). Thus I conclude that mothers’ job may have good impact in
children’s behavior and academic achievement points of view, so women should
not hesitate to keep working even after having a child.
